Auburn Old Town contains homes and retail buildings from the middle 19th century. The oldest fire station and post office date from the gold rush years. Auburn is a small town with all the things that make a small town great.
Auburn is home to the Gold County Fair Grounds with the Placer County Fair, Auburn Rodeo, The Auburn Home Show, 4th of July Fireworks; Art Walks, the Auburn State Recreation Area along the North and Middle Forks of the American River where there are more sporting endurance events than any other place; Saturday Farmers’ Market in the parking lot of the old court house, and Old Fashioned Christmas celebrations.
The American River and local lakes offer fishing and boating opportunities and the foothills have lots of hiking and biking trails.
Homes range from manufactured homes in established parks, condos and starter homes to luxury homes in subdivisions and custom developments to homes on large parcels and horse properties.
