Grass Valley

Nestled in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the historic Northern California gold country is the town of Grass Valley. The booming gold rush led to the development of the two richest gold mines in California – Empire Mine and North Star Mine.

Just one of the beautiful places to visit now is Empire Mine Historic State Park in Grass Valley.
Grass Valley offers you a choice of almost any type of home you can imagine. There are historic old Victorian homes in town to rural properties with acreage, streams, ponds and great views. There are condos, starter homes, to gated communities with luxury homes waiting for you.

We have a Mediterranean climate with snow occurring at times. Residents enjoy many outdoor activities centered around the nearby lakes, hiking and riding trails, events at the Nevada County Fairgrounds, the weekly Farmers’ Markets, Cornish Christmas, Music in the Mountains, Draft Horse Classic, Movies Under the Pines, and all the other activities that make living her enjoyable.

Grass Valley has convenient shopping, restaurants, medical facilities including Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, and is next to Hwy. 49 for easy access to Lake Tahoe or Auburn on Hwy 80.
